The last Shangrila is Bumthang-the wide central valley, which is ancestral home of Buddhism in Bhutan and is place of pilgrimage for Bhutanese people.

The tour to Punakha Dzong at Punkha, Wangdiphordang and Gangty Gompa at Phubjika are all worth to visit. Highlights include Ta Dzong museum, Rimpong Dzong and the infamous Taktsang monastery (Tiger’s Nest) in the beautiful Paro valley.

In the morning visit to colorful vegetable market, the Memorial Chorten and the National library. After lunch visit to handmade paper factory and the school of Thanka painting, stroll about down. Overnight hotel.

Drive to Punakha the former capital of Bhutan. After picnic lunch by the Wangdi river continue to Wangdi Phodrong Dzong, the most picturesque in Bhutan. Overnight hotel.

Excursion to serene Gangtey valley, home of the rare black-necked cranes that fly over Tibet in the winter; visit the Gangtey monastery. Overnight hotel.
