Round Dhaulagiri trek is a long challenging trek that takes us to the base came of Mt. Dhaulagri (8167m) the seventh highest mountain in the world.
This a strenuous trek through high alpine pastures higher passes and serene and uninhabited valleys. Everyone is familiar with the name Dhaulagiri which is in the western part of Nepal probably the best spot for remote and adventurous trekking in Nepal. The simple reason behind it is that it consists of more than fifteen 7000m, magnificent peaks with land of dramatic contrast.
The Dhaulagiri, along with another eight thousander the Annapurna carves the world’s deepest gorge of Kaligandaki. Dhaulagiri round trek also crosses two high passes the French pass (5240m) and the Thapa pass (5155m). Moreover, you will also experience snow and glacier walking, especially around Italian base camp and Dhaulagiri north base camp.
Along the way, we enjoy spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, Thorong Peak, Annapurna and Kaligandaki River with the world deepest gorge. On the trail, you may also encounter semi-wild yak herds, mountain sheep in the remote valleys of the region. Besides the wild nature, you will also enjoy the tea house and lifestyles of Nepal’s ethnic people such as Gurung, Ghhetri, and Magars.
The beautiful mountain Dhaulagiri can be circled within two and half weeks. Our trekking package crosses the French pass and reaches to the Jomsom then back to Pokhara.
