Itinerary

The reporting time for the journey is 5:45 am from Thamel. Our -5 hour journey goes up to Tibet border and then we will drive Zhangmu imagination the border city of china, and drive to Nyalam overnight at Guesthouse.

Offers stunning views of the world’s highest mountain range, including Mt. Everest (8848m), Sishapangma (8301m), Dorja Lhakpa (6980m), Gauri Sankar (7134m), Cho-Oyu (8021m), Langtang (7245m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8464m). We will cross Nyalam pass and Lalungla, overnight at Guesthouse.

Today is our longest driving day via Gyatsola pass 5220m. By crossing Lhatse from where the road to Mt. Kailash bifurcates, overnight at Guesthouse.

    • Q1. How to get into Tibet?

      There is only a international flight which from Kathmandu (Nepal). If you want to go there by overland it’s also possible from Kathmandu (Nepal). However, domestic flights are available from most cities of China like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kunming, Chongqing, and Guangzhou. You are also able to travel by overland from these places.

    • The best time to visit Tibet is early May to late October but August and September are golden time. Except mentioned time weather is cold and changeable so travel is not impossible.

    • You can get the Tibet Travel Permit easily through a travel agency except diplomats, journalists, and government officials who should travel to Tibet under the arrangement by the Foreign Affairs Office of Tibet Government.

    •  Yes it is possible travel to Tibet alone, but restrictions are imposed on travel to many areas.

    • We advise you to keep basic medicines with you. Our guide will also take basic medicines. If you have altitude sicknesses during the travel please inform your guide in time so that a timely precaution can be taken. In case of serious condition you will have been drive to Lhasa or Kathmandu which be near.

    • Yes, but only the Bank of China in Lhasa has this function. However, the ATM there doesn't always work properly. So we suggest you to bring some cash with you.

    • While travelling in Tibet Sunglass, Sunhat, Good walking shoes, sleepers, warm enough clothes, easy light pack are recommended.
