Mustang Luxury Trek in the Annapurna region is one of the best walks on the foot of the Himalayas without engaging in strenuous hikes for weeks. The enriched Thakali and Gurung culture blended with Tibetan Buddhist Cultures, canyons and gorges of Kali Gandaki river, elegant mountains on the backdrop, and the cinematic landscapes of Jomsom to Kagbnei make lower Mustang heaven for a short and luxurious trekking destination.

Better known for ancient Tibetan Buddhism and the semi-autonomous region of Nepal, Mustang undoubtedly is one of the untouched landscapes in the world. Even with the flow of huge trekkers and pilgrims each year, the natural sceneries, landscapes, lifestyles, traditions, and hospitality are timelessly intact.

Lower Mustang, an Inspiring Himalayan Desert

Mustang, the countryside behind the towering Annapurna range, falls under a rain shadow. As a result, the entire landscape is arid, withered, dusty as the wind blows in the afternoon, but awe-strikingly amazing. Due to less or almost zero rainfall, people call it a Himalayan desert. However, the famous Apple Orchards of Marpha in Jomsom give life and greenery to the landscape. Furthermore, the Buckwheat and Potato farmlands during August shower ornate Jomsom and surrounding landscapes.

As a trekker, you can enjoy the Lower Mustang Luxury trek in Summer to enjoy the vibrant landscapes with the nostalgic petrichor, a smell of mud after the drizzles.

A luxury lower Mustang Trek- Doable on every season

Unlike other trekking destinations like Annapurna Base Camp and Everest Base Camp trek, the lower Mustang trek is doable all year round. Spring and Autumn months, from March to May and September to November, are the best months for the Mustang Luxury trek. However, winter's less snowfall and summer's less rainfall make it achievable all year round.

The fresh winter snow blankets the entire landscape and Mount Annapurna ranges from December to February. It becomes an ideal time to explore the regions like Jomsom, Marpha, Kagbeni, and Muktinath. The maximum altitude you'll reach in the Mustang trek is 3,710 metres at Muktinath. It'll be cold with a temperature around freezing, but your accommodation at the luxury lodge keeps you warm and cosy throughout your trip.

Lower Mustang Luxury trek for four days will be a tremendous natural escapade for you if you plan a trip to Nepal in the summer. It rains in Nepal in Summer, and many trekking routes become arduous and challenging. However, lower Mustang being a landscape in the rain shadow region, you'll receive fewer rain showers and can hike all day without obstacles. On top, it's a time of year when you can witness greenery around the landscapes of the lower Mustang.

Mustang Trek- A luxurious trip to heaven of Himalayas and inspiring landscapes

Annapurna I, 8,091 metres, and Dhaulagiri, 8,176 metres, are the world's 7th and 10th highest mountains. Other mountains include Nilgiri, and Dhampus peaks are adjacent to Annapurna. These are the mountains best seen from Jomsom to Kagbeni. On your flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, the aerial glimpses of Machhapuchhre and the peaks mentioned above give the surreal experience of what you'll be surrounded by for the next four days in the Mustang luxurious trek.

Not only mountains, but Mustang trek is also best known for Kali Gandaki Gorge and beautiful stones, Saligram. As you hike to Kagbeni along the shore of the Kali Gandaki River, you'll find yourself bound by the serenity of inspiring landscapes and elegant outlooks. Chilly mornings, breezy afternoons, deep gorges, and withered canyons make the day hike and landscape stunning. On top, touring in this magical terrain with luxurious accommodation takes comfort to the next level.

Mustang Luxury Trek- Mode of transportation

For four days Mustang Luxury Trek, Dream Himalayan provides complimentary airport drop and pickup service in Pokhara.

You'll get a two-way flight that takes 30 minutes to get to Jomsom and Pokhara. You'll hike to Marpha, Kagbeni, and Muktinath. After you visit Muktinath Temple, you'll get a jeep drive to Jomsom. Trekkers also prefer jeep rides from Pokhara to Jomsom to avoid the fear of flight. It takes a whole day to reach Jomsom; that only consumes the trek time you'll have. Also, the bumpy and dusty road to Jomsom will be a long tiring drive.

Luxurious Mustang Trek- Permits and fees

Unlike the Upper Mustang trek, the lower Mustang Luxurious Trek only requires two permits instead of three. You need a Trekkers Information Management System card (TIMS), and Annapurna Conservation Area Project permit (ACAP) for this trek. With us, we'll manage every required permit before the trip departures.

If you're an independent trekker, you can get these permits from Nepal Tourism Board, Kathmandu.

Unforgettable 10 day journey through Nepal

This is our second tour with Suman and Dream Heaven Adventure. Much thought and care was put into this trip of a lifetime.

We planned a custom trip for 13 people and no detail was left behind. Suman helped with preparations before, during and after our experience.

Our guide 'Ras' was an expert in navigating Lower Mustang, Nepal. We hiked from Jomsom, to Kagbeni, visited a 700 yr old monastery and ended the trip by visiting Muktinath.

We then travelled by plane through Pokhara and ended up with a two day tour of Kathmandu.

Staying at The Patan Inn in Kathmandu was also a highlight.

Thank you Suman for your care and detail. We will be sure to use DREAM ADVENTURE with each visit to Nepal.
