Itinerary

We will meet you at Tribhuwan International airport, Kathmandu and transferred to the hotel, after your freshness briefing program for your trekking, overnight at hotel.

After your breakfast we will start a guided tour to the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu valley, including Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambunath (Monkey Temple) and Buddha Nath, one of the large Stupas in the world, overnight at hotel.

Our representative will drop you to Tribhuwan International Airport for departure to Lhasa in the morning. After 40 minutes flight you will get welcome reception at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, with 60km drive to reach Lhasa City.

Today Tibetan English speaking guide will take you to visit Potala Palace, Ramoche Monastery and the Norbulinka, the Potala palace is the home of Dalai Lama. Norbulinka means “Jewel Peaks” is a UNESCO world heritage site. Your overnight accommodation with B/B plan will same as previous day.

You will be taken to visit Sera Monastery, Jokhang Monastery and Barkhor market. Jokhang monastery, situated in the heart of old Lhasa, house, Tibet’s most precious religions relic a golden Sakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese prince. Overnight at hotel.

After having breakfast, trip starts by drive from Lhasa to Gyantse (3950m) about 200km distance and it takes about seven hours to reach in the destination. While driving you will cross the passes named Kamba La (4794) and Karo La (5010) in between these two high passes your trail passing a long drive along the beach of the beautiful and emerge lake called Yamadroke- Tso.

After breakfast, our guide will take you to visit Khumbum Stupa and Phalkor monastery at Gyantse then drive to Shigatse ( Xigatse) in an altitude to 3900m. After 2 hours drive you will reach Shigatse.

Shegar is also known as New Tingri. From Shigatse you will be taken by drive to Shegar to be prepared for drive to Rongbuk to explore Mt. Everest Base Camp in the next day. About 200 km drive and 4 hours of time will be lost to complete this journey.

After breakfast, we drive to the Rongbuk monastery via the Pang-La pass. It is situated below the giant worth face of Mt. Everest. The 90 km from Shegar to Rongbuk should approximately take 3 hours of driving to transverse and you can enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu and Mt. Makalu.

Early breakfast 2 hours trek to the Everest Base Camp and back. Drive from here to Tingri about 145 km which should take approximately 5 hours.

  • Q1. How to get into Tibet?

    There is only a international flight which from Kathmandu (Nepal). If you want to go there by overland it’s also possible from Kathmandu (Nepal). However, domestic flights are available from most cities of China like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kunming, Chongqing, and Guangzhou. You are also able to travel by overland from these places.

  • The best time to visit Tibet is early May to late October but August and September are golden time. Except mentioned time weather is cold and changeable so travel is not impossible.

  • You can get the Tibet Travel Permit easily through a travel agency except diplomats, journalists, and government officials who should travel to Tibet under the arrangement by the Foreign Affairs Office of Tibet Government.

  •  Yes it is possible travel to Tibet alone, but restrictions are imposed on travel to many areas.

  • We advise you to keep basic medicines with you. Our guide will also take basic medicines. If you have altitude sicknesses during the travel please inform your guide in time so that a timely precaution can be taken. In case of serious condition you will have been drive to Lhasa or Kathmandu which be near.

  • Yes, but only the Bank of China in Lhasa has this function. However, the ATM there doesn't always work properly. So we suggest you to bring some cash with you.

  • While travelling in Tibet Sunglass, Sunhat, Good walking shoes, sleepers, warm enough clothes, easy light pack are recommended.
